Art Class.

Here is a photo I enjoy from The New Mexico Museum of Art :http://www.nmartmuseum.org/artontheedge/2008/

The artist is

Susan Donatucci, and the piece is titled

Gravity, 2004. Its very organic and heavy feeling; I feel as if i could lift the objects with my back.

it looks like a Native type music instrument or something. Neat looking though

This artwork makes me think of raindrops. Very cool.

To me it feels like a representation of the driving force of gravity and the direction it goes.

I'm fascinated by your reaction, Stephen, a physical reaction. I wonder if the artist was hoping for that type of interpretation of the work. I've seen a number of sculptural pieces lately, especially done in ceramics, where the components are hanging. It makes me wonder - what are they metaphorically hanging from! - Jane

This looks like they could be seal bladders used to catch insect. What I am speaking about is before the missionaries came to Alaska this is how a typical eskimo home would catch the insects during the summer. Reminds me of home.

When I saw this picture it reminded me of how when I get old gravity will have its way with me.
